Chopped Leaf: A Fresh Franchise Opportunity

Chopped Leaf, a Canadian fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in fresh and nutritious meals, offers franchising opportunities for individuals seeking to invest in a health-focused food business. With over 123 locations across Canada and the United States and more than 17 years of operational experience, Chopped Leaf provides a proven business model for entrepreneurs just like you to find success.

Streamlined Operations for Consistent Quality

Chopped Leaf's franchise model is designed for simplicity and efficiency, ensuring consistent food quality and service across all locations. This streamlined approach facilitates easier training for management and staff, leading to fewer operational errors and improved overall performance!

Multi-Unit Ownership Encouraged

We encourage multi-unit ownership, allowing you to manage multiple locations. This strategy can lead to increased profits, as success in one location often benefits others. Franchisees with several units tend to be more experienced and financially stable, reducing the risk of failure and enhancing the overall stability of the franchise system.

Chopped Leaf offers various ways to grow your business beyond in-store dining:

  • Partner with delivery platforms to expand takeout and delivery sales

  • Build catering relationships for consistent, large, and profitable orders

  • Join the school lunch program to serve nutritious meals in your community

Community Engagement and Brand Loyalty

Franchisees are encouraged to actively participate in their communities by sponsoring local events, supporting sports teams, and adopting socially responsible practices. Owning a health-focused restaurant allows franchisees to promote nutritious eating and contribute positively to their communities. Engaging with local businesses and social groups helps build strong relationships and fosters a loyal customer base.

Comprehensive Training and Ongoing Support

Chopped Leaf provides comprehensive support to its franchisees, including :

  • Assistance with development, training, operations, marketing, and IT
  • Aids in site selection through market research and helps implement expansion strategies
  • Once a lease is signed, the in-house construction team manages the build-out of the store & training is scheduled.
  • A two-week training course covering food preparation, office procedures, basic management, hiring, and customer service
  • On-site training is provided prior to the grand opening, and ongoing support is available through field visits or virtual channels.
  • Marketing support for market research, advertising campaigns, and promotional activities to increase brand awareness and drive sales.

Financial Requirements and Bank Partnership

Prospective franchisees need a minimum of $150,000 in unencumbered cash. Chopped Leaf is a preferred partner with TD Bank, offering Canadian Small Business Loan pre-approval before any commitment is made. No hard credit check is required at this stage, so you can feel comfortable about taking next steps.

Hands-On Ownership for Early Success

Franchisees or their partners are expected to be involved in the full-time operation of their restaurant for at least the first couple years. Active involvement ensures that the brand's standards for product quality, customer service, and overall experience are consistently met. It also allows for better management of costs and expenses, staff training, and customer relationship building!
